Kahn Rawiri Anania Cattermole

So keeping this story theme alive, I have a couple more to add to my list of 2...

I actually CAN NOT believe I let this one slip by! It should have been the first thing I wrote about. SOOO stupid, I feel like such a bad aunty!!!

Yes. That’s right; I neglected to tell everyone that on the day of my Achilles surgery, my eldest sister was in labour. :D

Coincidence I think not.

Kahn Rawiri Anania Cattermole was due May the 11th 2010 but decided to keep cooking and make everyone wait just that little bit longer. In anticipation of his arrival, I could not stop writing his name and I ended up drawing this...

He was born weighing in at 9 pounds 9 ounces, the night of my surgery, May 20th 2010 and MAN WAS HE CUTE! I hated the fact that I wasn’t there when he was born; I actually didn’t meet my nephew until my sister came down to Christchurch to meet the Mother in-law (like 3 months later). My best friend saw him before I did. :(

I was extremely excited when I found out that Te Paea was pregnant. I think I was the first person in our family to be told :D. I had to keep it a secret until she told mum. MAN was that hard!! It was only for a couple days, but it had been the best news in forever and I really, really wanted to tell one of my other sisters. Te Paea and Troy had recently just got together so Kahn was definitely not planned.

He is such a cute baby and is fully going to have an attitude when he grows up. He already knows how to pull on our strings and get everyone’s attention. We’ve talked about how we’re all going to gang up on Paea when she tries to tell him off and how he’s going to be spoilt rotten. I swear there are around a thousand photos of him already; a couple hundred were taken straight after he was born. We have our roles as the aunties; apparently I’m the cool one... I can definitely do that.

Seeing them together as a family makes me so happy! I love just watching them look after and play with him. The stupid things they do to get his attention. It always fascinates me when babies know their parents have left the room. He definitely knows who they are, that’s for sure.

Wish I was home more often
